Eurexpo Lyon – 28 - 30 September 2023 Innovating to save water and tackling the challenges of the green transition: such are the goals that car wash professionals have set themselves for several years. EQUIP AUTO, the benchmark event for innovation in automotive aftersales and services for connected mobility, is intent on highlighting car wash professionals by offering them a space for meetings and exchange that will allow them to present the solutions they have developed to rise to these challenges.

EQUIP AUTO Lyon shines a light on car wash professionals

As at previous editions of the tradeshow, visitors will be offered a space entirely given over to car wash professionals and solutions for roadside services. In parallel, a talk on the theme “Car washes: innovating and diversifying to optimise profitability” will be hosted by specialist auto journalist Emmanuel Taillardat on Saturday 30 September at 12.15 pm. It will cover the latest solutions from exhibitors: organic water recyclers, the optimisation of existing equipment, solar water heaters, all with the aim of avoiding shutdowns during water restriction periods and optimising energy consumption. Professionals working in payment terminals and avenues for diversification will also speak at this panel discussion.

A tightly regulated market with major challenges

The car wash market has been undermined by drought and water stress, and businesses are experiencing an increasing number of restrictions. This sector has nonetheless been investing and innovating for years to deal with these issues and reduce its environmental impact while also conserving water resources.

In recent years, the leading names in the war wash sector have developed solutions to adapt to new environmental, regulatory and economic circumstances. Since the announcement of its decree on the use and conditions of reuse of treated wastewater, the French Ministry for the Ecological Transition has encouraged the sector’s companies to adopt innovative initiatives. In this perspective, the sector needs to be supported through the promotion of professionals that make car washing eco-friendly, in particular during periods of drought.
